Buffy Flash is a fanworks exchange centered on all things Buffy (meaning the show, the spinoff, the original movie, comics, books; all means all), with a runtime of a little over a week. The minimum for those participants is 100 words of a complete story, or a complete sketch on unlined paper, for a work which fits the request of an assigned recipient.

Rules and Info


This is a Buffy fanworks exchange, for all the fandoms pertaining to Buffy: the 1992 movie, the TV series and its spinoff, the comics from when the shows were airing, the books, the continuation comics, the reboot comics, the video games—if it's Buffy, it's in. That includes crossovers. You may choose any of these fandoms to create for, as long as the participant you intend to give it to requested it.

There will be a nominations period, where you can nominate the fandoms you'd like to see, with characters and/or ships. You will have the option to nominate up to ten fandoms, with ten slots per fandom. Characters may be nominated as "Character & None," for example "Buffy Summers & None." Platonic ships are allowed; you may use & instead of / when you nominate them. Rule 63 versions of characters (and ships they're in) can be nominated under the fandoms their original selves are from, as "Rule 63 [Character Name]". Crossovers may be nominated as Other Fandom/Buffy the Vampire Slayer (TV) (or whatever Buffy fandom you want the other fandom crossed with.)

Signups will involve choosing at least one fandom and at least one character or ship. You may list prompts or things you like in the box labeled "optional details," and no more than three DNWs. "DNWs" is an acronym for "do not wants," things you don't want to receive in a gift.

Assignments will involve being matched to a recipient with at least one combination of a requested fandom and ship/character that you offered. Everyone must match to at least one request, or their signup will be deleted. Pinch hits, requests with no assigned creators, will be posted on the comm. They can be claimed there, or via emailing the mod at femslashmod@gmail.com, or any other way through which you can privately contact the mod. I will do my best to make sure everyone has a gift.

Please don't reveal anything about what you're creating or who you're creating it for in public! This exchange will have a short period of anonymity before creators are revealed.

Minimum Fanwork Requirements: 100 words for fic/sketch on unlined paper, focusing on the fandom and character/ship requested, which does not include a DNW

Hey, so this sounds fun! Maybe I'm being a little dense, but I can't figure out how to sign up? Is it through AO3? I've never been in a community that does sign-ups directly through AO3, so maybe I'm just missing it, but I don't see a sign up button?

Not dense at all! Signups weren't open yet. The fifteenth is in about two and a half hours from now for me. However, I've decided everything is ready to go, so they should be open now! There should be a button labeled "Sign-Up Form" on the collection sidebar to your left, there's a post with all the info coming up.
